Elephant Hunting --
The problem with calling out elephants is that most people do not appreciate it. There may be initial sighs of relief, but then the elephant must be dealt with, and it is usually unpleasant. Although she had a natural acumen for noticing the beast in the midst, she was terribly lacking at the skills necessary to remove it. She therefore spent a lot of time looking into the eyes of that elephant. She searched for clues. She indexed patterns in her mind. But elephants, when they exist ignored in a room, tend to be decidedly unique creatures. Each always demands recognition of its own singular identity.
